How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the Kat NV 2.0 on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Now this is gonna be more specific for your 1500 Sierra. If you want a little bit more in depth on the rack itself, we do have a full review, but this is just gonna be how it interacts with the back of the truck and some key features. The NV 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, so that means it's not gonna make any contact with the frame, just at the front and rear wheel. The capacity for this is super solid. So it's gonna work for your super light road bikes that have carbon fiber frames with the no contact, as well as going all the way up to your 60-pound E-bikes. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack on our 2019 GMC Acadia. This bike rack is gonna be great for carrying those extra heavy electric bikes as you can carry up to 70 pounds per bike. It's also gonna be great if you have a motor home fifth wheel travel trailer, or if you wanna flat tow this on your journeys as well. It's gonna be made out of a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable, lasts a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. Since we are being held on by the frame mount, it's not gonna be great for your carbon frame style bikes as it might work or damage the frame. Something to keep in mind. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec two-bike platform bike rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. First thing we need to do is install the bike rack itself, which we'll just start by putting our shank into the receiver here, doing our best to line up the holes as we can. Once we've done our best to align the hitch pin hole with the hole on our receiver tube, we can start to thread our anti-rattle bolt into it. Most of these anti-rattle bolts including this one, we should be able to hand thread a pretty good portion of the way, but you might have to lift up and down on the actual bike rack to do so. If you start forcing the threads in with your socket wrench, eventually after multiple uses, you can start to unthread the actual anti-rattle bolt. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Seris MHS modular bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. Because of the double tire hold, this bike rack can accommodate a lot of different kinds of bikes, especially your carbon frames and those with a custom paint job, pretty much the only kind would be those with a fender and it does have a tilt away feature, which is awesome. The only problem is with our long handlebars here. Our hatch is going to make contact at about right here but we can just take the bike off to be able to access that. We are gonna have three attachment points, a strap for the front tire and then two of the wheel mounts. To take the bike off, we're gonna start with the strap and just get that out of the way. more

Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The RidgeBack is gonna be a hanging-style bike rack, which means it holds onto our bikes primarily with the top tube right here, and it's got one anti-sway cradle here in the back, which helps keep some of that movement out of the case, but as with most hanging-style bike racks, you're gonna get a little bit of that back and forth movement. And you'll notice here that this front tire is free swinging, so I definitely recommend picking up some sort of stabilizing strap to keep that in place. But it does have the ability to hold four bikes up to 40 pounds a piece. Got a couple cool features that we'll check out throughout the video, so let's get to it. more

The Tire Hold is a two-bike platform-style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds a piece. It's gonna hold on to them with this dual wheel mount design, so one of these hoops on either side is gonna hold onto one of either tire. That's the only way that it's gonna hold on, so it doesn't make any frame contact. It's gonna be able to support two bikes up to 45 pounds a piece, gonna hold onto them primarily with these frame hooks on our center mast, as well as two straps, one on the back tire and one on the front. So because it does make that frame contact, we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes 'cause it could potentially damage your frame while you're driving. Also, if you have a really aggressive alternative frame style bike, you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make it work. CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack capable of supporting four bikes up to 180 pounds total. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily by the top tube and let the rest of the bike hang down, hence the name. It's gonna support our bike with three straps, two on the top and one anti-sway strap on the side here. As you can see here with the front tire, it is free hanging right now though, so if we rotate it all the way, it'll make contact with the back of our Sierra, so we recommend picking up some stabilizer straps if you can, just to secure that in place. more

So the transfer is a two-bike platform style bike rack. It's gonna make primary contact with our bike right here on the front wheel with this wheel hook with an additional point on the back so there's no frame contact. In the event that you wanted to transport your carbon frame bikes, you could do that if you have a really aggressive alternative style frame bike you could also use that. So that's nice that it has that feature and it is capable of supporting up to 60 pounds. more

Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey its Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two-bike rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. It is a two-bike platform style bike rack that's gonna make primary contact on our frame here using these paddock frame hooks And because it does put that pressure down on our frame. We don't recommend using carbon frame bikes with these just cause it could potentially be damaged while you're driving. It's one of the more entry level bikes that have a couple of features like tilting it away and folding it up and it still offers that weight capacity of 45 pounds, which is nice. Two tilted away, you have to reach back here to this lever so if you do have both bikes loaded up it might be a little bit tricky to get to, but you released that the bike rack tilts and we found that we get plenty of clearance to get into the back of our vehicle From there. more

We are looking at the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform 2 Bike Rack On a platform style bike rack like this, you're gonna have the tires sitting in these grooves here. The frame is gonna be secured on this mass by the cradle so you actually have three attachment points you have on the frame and then you have one on each tire that secures it. Now, with the way that this mounts, this isn't gonna be a good option for some of your carbon frame bikes. And with a 35 pound weight capacity, it's not gonna be suited for your e-bikes or some of your heavier trail bikes. more

We're gonna hold onto our bikes primarily by these rotated padded clamps on the center mast and two straps down at the bottom. Because it does use these padded clamps on the frame, you're not gonna want to use this bike rack with something like a carbon frame bike cause it could potentially take some damage to the frame while you're driving. It should work okay for most alternative frame bikes but you might have to get a little bit creative. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT Premium Four Bike Rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. This is a hanging-style bike rack that's gonna hold our bike by the frame. It hangs down by the frame there, held in by these two straps over the top the frame, and a third one around the seat post, limiting our side-to-side movement. It's not gonna fully eliminate that movement, but it does help quite a bit and prevent bike-to-bike contact. You are gonna have some limitations with this being a hanging-style bike rack because it's hanging by the frame, you wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage it. more

Hey everyone, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. So the first thing we need to do is to get the rack itself installed, which is pretty straightforward with this rack, what we do is slide the shank into the receiver. There's a built-in collar around the shank, which will stop us where we need to, to make sure our pins are aligned. And once this collar is lined up, the pinhole should be lined up as well. So we just slide this through and put our lock on the end of it. more

And it will hold onto our bike primarily through these padded clamps that are able to move up and down our center mast as well as they ratchet and rotate around 360 degrees to accommodate for a couple of different frames, styles, and sizes. But we definitely recommend that you, if you have a carbon frame bike, you don't use it with this rack because it will make frame contact and it could potentially damage your frame as you're driving. more

Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman CURRENT eBike Rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. The first thing we're gonna need to do is get the actual rack into the hitch. We have a 1 1/4 shank here, with our two-by-two-inch adaptive sleeve that fits into our 2-inch receiver tube. We found that once you basically line up the adapter sleeve with the outside of the receiver tube, then your pinhole will probably be lined up pretty okay. If It's not, you just can just wiggle it up and down a little bit till you get to where you need it to go. more

Rhino-Rack Tilting 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino Rack two bike rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. This is a hanging style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 33 pounds each. Now with hanging bike racks like this you're going to want to avoid using carbon frame bikes because it does make frame contact. It might damage your bike while it's moving. Additionally, if you have an alternative frame bike it will work, but you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure that everything fits snugly. more

Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer bike rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. This is a two-bike rack version, but there is also a three version available. This is a platform-style bike rack, and it is capable of supporting two bikes up to 40 pounds with our inch and a quarter adapter, like we have here. But, if you have the two inch hitch version, it's capable of supporting up to 60 pounds. The three-bike version also is capable of supporting up to 40 pounds, like we have here. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going everybody It's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. So, this is a bike rack that you're gonna wanna use if you do have heavier bikes like e-bikes, because it does support up to 70 pounds per bike. Additionally, it does come with a ramp, that we'll get into just a little bit later, to help you get the get the bike off of the rack itself. Now, it holds our bike primarily on the frame through these padded clamps. So in the event that you're using a carbon frame bike, or an alternative frame style bike, specifically carbon frame, we don't recommend these types of racks, because it does make that frame contact and could potentially damage your frame while it's moving. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro four bike hanging bike rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra. So before we start, we're gonna make sure that we have a 3/4" socket wrench and our 3/4" anti-rattle bolt ready to go. And we'll just start the process by fitting the shank into our 2" by 2" receiver tube. This is an 1 1/4" shank. This is working with our 2" receiver tube with a 2" adapter sleeve. more

Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack Review - 2011 GMC Yukon- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Piston Pro X three bike platform rack right here on our 2011 GMC Yukon. So the three bike version of the Piston Pro X is awesome because then you can carry around more bikes, but you also have great features like a great weight capacity as well as a really long wheelbase. So one of the features we'll take a look at is the tilt away feature. And this is kind of tricky once you have three bikes on there, because you need to hit this handle. You can also kick it, it's kind of far away. more

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Door County Bike Rack here on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now the Door County is going to be a platform style rack, holding the bike down in these trays with two wheel straps and primarily holding it upright with this clamp around the frame here, that is gonna mean that our carbon frame bikes we're probably gonna wanna avoid just because we do have some pretty big frame contact and it's clamping down on that frame. So we don't want to damage it. But with the way this attaches down here rather than like a hook on the top tube, I think our alternative frame bikes are gonna be just fine. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden, here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro, here on a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 limited. Now a bike rack is a great way to get those bikes safely transported to your destination wherever you'd like to bike. A lot of people with the truck you might just think do throw it in the bed or maybe more commonly, just use a tailgate pad. You can drap it over the tailgate here and load up more bikes that way, but for our customer today and for probably a lot of you at home who have a tile cover, that might not be an option. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-bike Rack, here on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. Now, this is going to be a really solid e-bike rack with a 70 pound capacity per bike, so good for those heavier bikes as well. It is gonna hold the bike by the wheels down here with these three straps and up top on the frame with this clamp. That does swivel around and move around, so if you do have an alternative frame it should be good for that. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the KURT Premium Hanging Style Bike Rack, here on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. Now you've got a couple of options to carrying your bikes when it comes to your Sierra here. You could always just throw them in the bed, but then they're gonna be kind of stacked on top of each other, banging around, and potentially getting damaged. You could do a tailgate pad, but with the multifunctional tailgate here, and potentially a tonneau cover like we have here today, that might not be an option either. You might wanna have that tonneau cover rolled out, protecting your cargo. more

Now it's gonna be able to hold up to four bikes. And you can see it's going to hold it hanging by the frame here. We've got two straps on top and this third strap on the seat post here, as our anti-sway cradle keeping that side-to-side movement down to a minimum. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail here on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now the GuideRail is a platform-style bike rack that will hold the bike in these trays by the tires. So that means we're gonna have zero frame contact making this good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity, per bike, even good for some of our e-bikes with that battery removed. Now, personally, I like this style of holding the bike because it's really easy to load and unload and you still get a really good hold on the bike here. more

Now, the Piston Pro X is a very unique and very high-end bike rack. Everything's gonna work really smoothly and work really well for your bike here. You can see we're holding the bike in these trays and by the wheels, making it good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and with a 67-pound weight capacity per bike, even good for our e-bikes. We also have the ability to tilt it away from the vehicle with our bikes loaded, like with many other racks in this style. more
